Portugal continues to shine on both domestic and international fronts, making headlines in Time Out Global’s annual ranking of the 50 best cities in the world for 2024. The country has secured impressive positions, with Porto claiming the 10th spot and Lisbon following closely in 13th place.

The first five cities in this list are New York, Cape Town, Berlin, London, and Madrid. Remarkably, the two Portuguese cities surpass renowned destinations such as Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Singapore, Miami, Beijing, Dubai, Sydney, San Francisco, Barcelona, and Seoul.

For some, the allure lies in vibrant neighborhoods, affordable dining and drinking options, or an extensive array of activities – from art galleries and museums to live music and theater.

Others value factors like residents’ happiness, access to green spaces, and a strong sense of community. It is through these criteria that the international publication annually compiles its global ranking of the best cities in the world.

Time Out spotlights Porto in the 10th position as a place where “eating is good, and drinking is even better.”

According to the magazine, in this “wine capital,” 98% of locals consider their city beautiful, and 82% find it romantic. The richness of tilework is cited as another compelling reason to adore the Invicta.

Meanwhile, Lisbon glows in the 13th spot thanks to its luminosity, hilltop viewpoints overlooking the Tagus River, terraces for enjoying sunsets, and beaches just half an hour away.

Time Out also emphasizes another unique aspect that sets the Portuguese capital apart: the increasingly vibrant music festivals during the summer, including Rock in Rio, NOS Alive, Super Bock Super Rock, and MEO Kalorama.

As the accolades for Porto and Lisbon continue to pour in, we see significant opportunities for strategic investments.

With the growing international recognition of these cities as thriving hubs for culture, gastronomy, and lifestyle, Aspire remains committed to contributing to the development and prosperity of Portugal’s real estate landscape.
